Radeon RX 7900 XTX vs Radeon RX 6950 XT: Price | Availability

The good thing is that even though the latest Radeon RX 7900 XTX is more advanced, the pricing is fair. It’s priced at $999, while with discounts the predecessor RX 6950 XT could be found within the price range of $900 to $950. At the end of the day after much analysis, the latest RX 7900 XTX offers better value for money.

AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX is faster than the Radeon RX 6950 XT. During the launch, AMD shared some benchmark scores, whereby the Radeon RX 7900 XTX was up to 1.7x faster in pure rasterization and about 1.6x faster in ray tracing at 4K compared to the Radeon 6950 XT.

It is not surprising that the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX is better because AMD did bump up the specs compared to what the last-gen had. For example, the RX 7900 XTX has a clock speed of 2.3 GHz which is higher than the RX 6950 XT with 2.1 GHz, 96 Compute Units as opposed to the 80 of the RX 6950 XT. And even the Radeon RX 7900 XTX has 24GB GDDR6 Memory as opposed to the 16GB of the Radeon RX 6950 XT.

Radeon RX 7900 XTX vs Radeon RX 6950 XT: Conclusion

The Radeon RX 7900 XTX is worth it because it offers better performance than its predecessor, and compared to Nvidia RTX 4090 and 4080 cards, the RX 7900 XTX is cheaper. More so, the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX has a better 8K performance than the RX 6950 XT.
