When it comes to CPU and GPU performance, the Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2 is superior to the MediaTek Dimensity 8200. Following their peak Geekbench scores, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 beats the Dimensity 8200 by 6%. The former had 4,279 multi-core points, while the latter scored 3,990 points in multi-core.

As for their CPU configuration, both SoCs have octa-core processors with 1+3+4 architecture. However, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 uses the latest flagship Cortex-X2 as the prime core which gave it an edge.

The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset has 1 x Cortex-X2 @2.91 GHz.., 3 x Cortex-A710 @2.49 GHz.., and 4 x Cortex-A510 @1.8 GHz. In contrast, the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 brings an older 1 x Cortex-A78 @3.1 GHz.., 3 x Cortex-A78 @3.0 GHz.., and 4 x Cortex-A55 @2.0 GHz. Overall, the SD 7+ Gen 2 with recent technology is better.
