Sony Xperia 1 IV and Xperia 5 IV to get Android 13: Sony promised two years of software updates for its smartphones. The company has just confirmed that the Sony Xperia 1 IV and the Sony Xperia 5 IV will be getting the Android 13 update soon.
The Xperia 1 IV and Xperia 5 IV phones are flagship phones from Sony that booted Android 12 out of the box. Sony did not mention when the Android 13 update will start rolling out to these phones and if any security patch will accompany it.

However, if you own any of the two Sony phones, we advise you to check for updates in settings and it would be nice if you drop details in the comment section. There is also limited information about the size of the firmware and if new features will be added.

But, if these Sony phones are getting the Android 13 update, we can be sure that these two phones will get the core update of the new software. Android 13 comes with features like updates on digital well-being, improved security features, the ability to set different languages for different apps, Material You design language with customization for the theme, colors, and icons, better permission, etc.
