The chipset that is under hood of this device is the Dimensity 800U. Dimensity 800U is a 5G capable chispet produced by MediaTek. There is no commercial 5G in Nigeria just yet so it make sense the Vivo removed the 5G feature to make the phone more affordable.
But, 5G aside, the Dimensity 800U is an incredible chipset. From live tests, it out performed the likes of Snapdragon 730G and 720G. It’s also very solid under heavy usage and it does not seem to get heated up pretty quickly.
This chipset can play some high quality games with lagging behind. Then the CPU and it’s GPU are really good at processing what you need the phone to do.

Cameras
Vivo V21 come with a triple rear camera set up. A 64MP main sensor, 8MP ultrawide, and 2MP macro. Upfront is an 44MP camera placed in a cut out notch at the middle.
The camera features of the device include the ability to shoot; 4K videos, slow-mo videos, gyro-EIS, AI photo, portrait mode etc.
Remember in the beginning we said the 44MP selfie camera has OIS, well YEs it has OIS. With the OIS feature, you can shoot video while running or in the moving car and the video won’t be blurry. Using the OIS feature will make the video and photo appear steady.
Good thing is, this feature comes for both the rear and front camera. So, you can truly enjoy taking actions of scenes you love. Vloggers and photo freaks will really love using this phone.

Display and Build Material
The display type of the Vivo V21 is an AMOLED panel with 90Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ enabled. It’s display size is 6.44 inch FHD+ with peak nit brightness up to 500 nits.
For it’s build material, it has plastic back, plastic frame and glass front. Although there is no known glass protection, the phone is however splash resistant.

You’ll enjoy using the 90Hz refresh rate and when under the sun, you can also make use of the display of this phone. Although it’s not the best brightness you’ll get but it’s still pretty awesome to use.
RAM, Storage and Battery
Vivo V21 come with 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It also has space for storage expansion via microSD card. There is little preinstalled app which makes the phone feel personal. And this also gives you more space to use.
The battery capacity is non-removable 4000mAh with 33W fast charge – from 0 to 63% in 30 mins. No wireless charge and no reverse charge feature is available.

Software and Sensors
Vivo V21 runs Android 11 out of box along with the FunTouch 11.1 software. As far as software update goes, Vivo will be rolling out monthly security patch but we’re not aware if there is any major software update coming the way of this device.
There is no 3.5MM jack because the phone is very slim but it come with an adapter that will allow use the USB type-C port for headphone. Fingerprint scanner is in-display and you also get to rock Face Unlock – if you like that feature.
