Xiaomi has launched the Xiaomi 12T Pro and 12T as one of Europe’s affordable premium camera phones. The price of the Xiaomi 12T starts at €599 while that of the Xiaomi 12T Pro starts at €749 for the 8GB + 128GB models. Both smartphones are bringing some significant improvements over their predecessor the Xiaomi 11T.

During the launch event, Xiaomi’s focus was on the 200MP primary camera of the Xiaomi 12T Pro, its new camera features, and the improved performances of both smartphones. Here are the new camera features and highlights of both phones.

Xiaomi 12T Pro and 12T Highlight

The Xiaomi 12T features a 200MP primary camera that can record videos in 8K resolution. According to Xiaomi, this camera sensor produces better photo quality and its OIS feature allows it to take less blurry photos. There are four new camera features that are coming with the 200MP primary camera.

One is the Xiaomi ProCut. The Xiaomi ProCut is a new AI algorithm that allows can cut photos into five different pieces and this makes it possible for users to only select and keep the photo frame they need. The second is the In-sensor zoom. This feature makes it possible for the camera to crop photos at the sensor level and produce better photo quality.

The third feature is the Xiaomi ProFocus. This feature studies and follows the movement of your subjects when you’re recording a video and while taking photos, this feature allows for a faster shutter and you can take up to 30 photos in one second according to Xiaomi. The Ultra Clear Night is the fourth camera feature and it allows users to take clear photos at night using the 200MP of the Xiaomi 12T Pro.

The primary camera sensor of the Xiaomi 12T is a 108MP sensor and it also takes decent photos. You can record videos in 4K resolution using the cameras of the Xiaomi 12T and you also get to use some of the features available in the 12T Pro.

As for performance, the Xiaomi 12T featured the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Ultra chipset while the Xiaomi 12T pro features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip. Both are 5G chipsets but the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is built on a 4nm process technology while the Dimensity 8100 Ultra is built on a 5nm process technology.

According to Xiaomi, the chipset of the Xiaomi 12T Pro is optimized to get up to a 16.7% increase in CPU performance and an 11% increase in GPU performance. The company also said that the CPU and GPU power efficiency is 33% and 30% better. This means better performance and better heat management. The story is also similar to the Xiaomi 12T. Xiaomi claimed the Dimensity 8100 Ultra chip brings 28% and 30% improvement in CPU and GPU. And it’s also optimized to have 27% and 30% CPU and GPU efficiency.

The display size, features, and battery are the same. The Xiaomi 12T and Xiaomi 12T Pro feature a 6.67-inches AMOLED display with support for an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. Both smartphones are powered by a 5,000mAh battery with support for a 120W HyperCharge. You can charge the battery of the Xiaomi 12T pro and 12T from 0 to 100% in about 19 minutes and it’ll give you a full day of battery use. According to Xiaomi, intensive users can get more than 13 hours of screen time on both phones.

The price of the Xiaomi 12T is €599 and €649 for the models with 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB storage while the price of the Xiaomi 12T Pro is €749 and €799 for the models with 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB storage in Europe.
