Xiaomi and others postpone launch events: Xiaomi and other Chinese phone makers were supposed to hold a launch event in early December. But, the launch events have been postponed till further notice after a shocking event rocked China on Wednesday, November 29th, 2022 (two days before the series of launch events in China).

Why Xiaomi and others postpone Launch events

According to Reuters, Chinese former president Jiang died in his home city of Shanghai just after noon on Wednesday of leukemia and multiple organ failure. This shocking and sad event led to phone companies moving their launch event till further notice.

Before now, Xiaomi had scheduled to launch the Xiaomi 13 series and other smart gadgets on December 1st. But the company through its official Weibo account has confirmed that the event has been postponed till further notice.

vivo/iQOO haw also postponed the launch of the iQOO 11 series and iQOO Neo7 SE till further notice following this shocking news. Note that the launch of the iQOO 11 and iQOO Neo7 SE was initially scheduled for December 2nd.

Other Chinese companies like Motorola are also expected to have a launch event in December but it seems all these events will be postponed for now. As of the time of writing this, there is no confirmation as to when the new launch event for the Xiaomi 13 and iQOO phones will be.

However, since the death of the former Chinese president is barely 24 hours ago, we hope to receive more updates when everything settles and burial arrangements are made. New launch dates are expected to be announced soon but in the main time, our condolences go to the family of the former Chinese president.
