Snapdragon 782G vs Snapdragon 778G+: Which is faster? According to Qualcomm, the latest Snapdragon 782G will replace the Snapdragon 778G+. The chip maker further added that the Snapdragon 782G is 5% faster in CPU and 10% faster in GPU than the Snapdragon 778G+.
So to confirm Qualcomm’s claim, we carried out a performance test in the studio. And the outcome shows both chipsets are neck to neck. The difference in performance is so insignificant that one may hardly notice any upgrade.

And if we should go by the Geekbench scores, the Snapdragon 778G+ had 820 Single-core points and 3,019 multi-core. While the Snapdragon 782G chip had 840 points on single-core and 3,004 on multi-core. On multiple occasions, the multi-core points were at par across both chipsets.
Configuration-wise, both SoCs are built on a 6nm node with an 8-core Cortex-A78 processor, and an Adreno 642L graphics processing unit (GPU). The CPU architecture retains the 1+3+4 settings. With the 1x Cortex-A78 running at 2.7GHz, 3x Cortex-A78 at up to 2.4GHz, and 4x Cortex-A55 at up to 1.8GHz. Though the Snapdragon 778G+ primary core runs a little lower at 2.5GHz frequency.

These two chipsets are built on a 6nm node, the difference in performance is minor. Overall, the snapdragon 782G is a leap ahead but not groundbreaking. The Honor 80 is the first smartphone to use the Snapdragon 782G SoC. while the likes of Nothing Phone 1 and a few other Chinese smartphones from Realme used the Snapdragon 778G+.
