Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro Review: Tell me what you love in a smartphone and I will show you how Redmi Note 8 Pro fits in perfectly. I’m still trying to look for a loophole in this device but have found little or nothing.
Are you a camera lover, a fan boy of good hardware like me, or a gamer that needs a wide screen display with a strong battery to match? What so ever you need in a midrange smartphone this 2019, Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro offers them more at a cheaper price. Bravo to Xiaomi!
Thus, Tech Arena24 is bringing you an honest review of the smartphone.
For the purpose of a detailed review, the info here will be broken into segments to cover all the relevant information.

PRICE
I love starting my reviews with the price category. So I can get to tell u if the phone is worth the price or not. Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro is now available in Nigeria. The official retail price starts at 82,900 naira for the 6GB RAM + 64GB ROM variant. While you can buy the 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM model at the price of 89,900 naira.
However, in some places it might go a little higher but just know that the above is the official price. As for those wondering if the price is fair enough, I will tell you YES. In short, this is more of a pay less and get more. So go for it!
DESIGN AND DISPLAY
I found my first and maybe the only fault with this smartphone under this segment. The device has a dewdrop notch design just like its predecessor Redmi Note 7. However, the smartphone failed to come with an OLED/Amoled panel.
Instead the company opted for An IPS LCD panel. Something we see in every low midrange smartphone. Had the Redmi Note 8 Pro come with an Amoled Touchscreen, the phone would just have been perfect. Simply put, Xiaomi could have done better here.
CAMERA
Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro is the pioneer of 64MP Quad camera in Nigeria. In short, one of the first smartphone in the world to come with such fantastic camera. There is also a 8MP ultrawide camera, a 2MP macro camera and another 2MP depth sensor cam.
Moreover, the cameras can take sunlight and night pictures great. More also, the rear cameras can do a 4K video with the presence of an Electronic image stabilisation (gyro-EIS) feature to help you keep things in balance. What an upgrade over its predecessor! While in the front, there is also a 20MP camera that can enable you take great selfies.
I’ll easily recommend you to purchase Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro as your camera smartphone.

SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE
Redmi Note 8 Pro runs out of the box on Android 9 Pie, and will be upgrading to Android 10 in few months time.
Athough the smartphone was made available in both 6GB and 8GB RAM. However, only the 6GB RAM version will be available in the Nigerian market. This you can get with 64GB of ROM or 128GB of ROM (SD Card available too).
Sadly though, the Chipset that Xiaomi used to power the Redmi Note 8 Pro is still up for debate till now. Many persons felt the tech company should have used Qualcomm Snapdragon Chip to power the device instead of the Mediatek Helio G90T chip they used.
However, it may interest you to know that the Mediatek Helio G90T chip is more powerful than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 used in the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 of last year. Mediatek Helio G90T deserves more recognition and I can assure of its best performance.
Thus, don’t get it twisted because when it comes to the hardware, Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro is kinda beast of its self.
BATTERY
Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with a 4500mAh battery capacity that supports 18W fast charge. The battery is so strong and can last you too.
