Gionee has been behind the scene for quite a while now. The company that was previously known to make phones with monster battery has slowly faded away into the background. But, the company made a surprising comeback today with the launch of a new smartphone.

Gionee launched the Gionee G13 Pro today in China and it looks just like an Apple iPhone. In fact, its designs is inspired by the iPhone design. It has same notched display, same flat side frame and dual rear cameras that is placed diagonally.

Another interesting thing about this phone is that it boots a new operating system. Gionee phones has always run on Android OS but the new Gionee G13 Pro boots Huawei’s HarmonyOS with the full HMS ecosystem.

Gionee G13 Pro Specifications

In the display segment, Gionee G13 Pro features a 6.26-inch, IPS LCD panel, FHD+ resoltuion with a 19:9 aspect ratio and a single 5MP selfie camera placed inside the notch which can be used to unlock the phone.

The chipset inside the G13 Pro is Unisoc T310 chipset paired with 4GB RAM and 32/128GB storage. At the rear, is has a 13MP main cam as well as a 2MP macro shooter. The phone is powered by a 3,500mAh and charges via USB-C.

Gionee G13 Pro

Gionee 13 Pro comes in four color options: blue, gold, purple and black. The starting price of the phone is CNY 529 ($83) for the 4/32GB model while the 4/128GB version will sell for CNY 699 ($110).

The smartphone is already on open sale in China from online retailer JD.com. Its been a while we saw a Gionee smartphone outside China, maybe this one might make it out. If it does, it’ll be a low entry phone to buy.
