We’ve known lots of things about the Google Pixel 6 series via leaks, rumors and renders. There have been photo samples, possible pricing of the Pixel 6 series. With the launch of the new Google Pixel flagship just few days away, more leaks are pouring in.
The latest rumor about the Pixel 6 series is that it might get four years of software update and five years of security patches. Since the Google Pixel 6 series run Android 12 out of the box, this means it’ll get Android 16 update.

So, if you own any of the Pixel 6 when I launch come October 19th, it won’t feel old and outdated at least till 2025. According to @_snoopytech on Twitter, the Google Pixel 6 series will get Android OS upgrade up to Android 16.
Snoopytech has tweeted numbers of accurate leaks over the past few months. While there is no official news from Google about software plans for the Pixel 6 series yet, we’ll have to stick with Snoopytech for now.
Come October 19th when the device is announced, we hope to hear Google confirm this or surprise us with some other software plan. Google Pixel Phones are usually the first to test and get new Android OS.

A new report has shown that Germany government might demand phone makers to provide 7 years of software update. Google providing four years of software update is a step in the right direction.
Some of the highlight of the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro is the all new Tensor chip inside, its new camera sensors and display quality. There is just so much to look forward to.
