Nokia 8.3 5G Specifications: At the Qualcomm Summit held December last year, Nokia promised to be among the first Android phone companies to make use of the new released Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. And true to their word, they have released a fully 5G Android phone called the Nokia 8.3 5G powered by Snapdragon 765G SOCs.
The new Nokia 8.3 5G from Nokia is not a flagship phone but it’s a high end mid-range phone. It comes with some features found in flagship phones but still falls below that category. This means that we should expect some features that will place it on the categories of top mid range phones this 2020.
While Nokia have maintain a little history of annoying some fans with the release of its low budget phones. But, they have always maintain high standard when it comes to its premium and mid range Android phones. Which leaves us with the question, will the new Nokia 8.3 5G be a hit or a miss?
Just so we are on same page. We don’t want you thinking that the new Nokia phone has same performance as the like of Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra or the iPhone 11 pro max. The phone has a Front glass, plastic body, plastic frame and a IPS LCD display type. It comes with a huge display size of 6.81 inches and it has a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, 20:9 ratio (~386 ppi density). This phone is expected to launch with an unspecified gorilla glass screen. Which means you might consider getting screen guard to protect the display.
Nokia 8.3 5G Chipset, RAM and Internal Storage
It is packed with Qualcomm own Snapdragon chipset, the Qualcomm SDM765 Snapdragon 765G (7 nm) a chipset that is very popular for its gaming ability. For processing data, the phone uses Octa-core 2.4 GHz Kryo 475 Prime, 2.2 GHz Kryo 475 Gold for processing data and 1.8 GHz Kryo 475 Silver for power efficiency.

The phone comes in two variants, a 6GB RAM and 64GB Internal Storage, 8GB RAM and 128GB Internal Storage and there is also a space for external storage via microSD card. This is relatively good as more files can be saved and the phone can process more data with the installed RAM size. If you manage to fill up the internal storage, then you have the option of external storage up to 1TB via microSD card.
Nokia 8.3 5G Camera
With its 64 megapixel main shooter, you can expect to take awesome photos with this phone. There is also a 12 megapixel ultrawide, 2 megapixel macro camera and 2 megapixel depth sensor making a total of four cameras at the back. The camera features include; Zeiss optics, Dual-LED flash, HDR and gyro-EIS. This means you should expect to take good night pictures (Dual-LED flash feature) and steady video mode with the gyro-EIS feature.
Up front the phone uses a 24 megapixel camera placed in a punch hole at the top left screen. Overall, the phone is expected to take good photos at the back and front. Its camera quality and video quality is good enough to capture all the moment.

We are gradually getting to see how powerful the new Snapdragon chipsets are in Android phones in 2020. And the fact that this new Nokia Android phone is powered by such chipset is enough to want to buy and check it out.
The Nokia 8.3 5G is yet to be announced for sale in the global market. But, in its most expensive variant, it expected to cost about N237,000.
