All the parts for the Samsung Galaxy devices you’ll buy from iFixit are genuine. And for each of the parts you buy, there is a replacement guide by iFixit on that page to help you replace the part yourself. That’s why it’s called the self-repair program. You buy the genuine parts yourself and you fix them without paying a repair fee.
Right now, the number of Galaxy devices and parts available for purchase on this self-repair program is limited and it’s only available in the US right now. But, we hope to see more devices, more parts, and more countries added to this program soon.
For those who want to buy any of the Samsung Galaxy device parts in the table above, please visit the official iFixit website. Note that these parts are available while stock last.
The right-to-repair movement has gained momentum over the past few months and it appears Samsung is now moving in that direction. This is not everything the right-to-repair movement is clamoring for but it’s one step in the right direction and some changes are gradual. Apple is yet to join this movement and the company is still using software to lock components of its devices. Here is to hoping Apple will change its stand soon.
