Display & Design

Samsung Galaxy A52s brings a 6.5″ FHD+ Super AMOLED touchscreen with 120Hz refresh rate support. It is water and dust resistant with IP67 rating certification. The front display is also protected by Corning gorilla glass 5. Overall, the Galaxy A52s is more durable and has smoother screen.

OPPO Reno7 5G has 6.4″ FHD+ Super AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate enabled. It is protected by Corning gorilla glass 5 but lacks water resistant feature. The OPPO Reno7 display is good, but the Samsung Galaxy A52s display is better.

Camera

The Galaxy A52s has 64 MP main camera, alongside a 12MP ultrawide and 2MP lens each for macro and depth sensor. The main camera has an optical image stabilization (OIS) feature which helps to deliver better image quality both in daylight and lowlight condition. Also, it can shoot video in 4k resolution. Upfront it has 32MP front facing camera that is also capable of shooting 4k footage.

When compared to the OPPO Reno7 5G, it has 64MP primary cam, supported by 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro lens. But only the rear camera can record in 4k video resolution. Upfront it has 32MP front facing camera.

In overall, camera of the Samsung Galaxy A52s is better. The quality of its photography both in daylight and night is more advanced.

Performance | Storage | RAM | 5G

These two devices have an almost similar performance because both are are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G chipset. However there are few differences in the configurations.

Samsung Galaxy A52s has 6/8 GB RAM and 128/256 GB storage. It has space for micro SD card and 3.5mm headphone jack is also available.

In contrast, OPPO Reno7 5G has no micro SD card and no 3.5mm headphone jack available. The configuration is strictly 8/12 GB RAM and 256GB storage. Who knows, maybe the global version will be different. But in overall, the Samsung Galaxy A52s offers a better deal. It is more flexible.

Software

These two smartphones run on their respective skinned software based on Android 11 out of the box and will be getting Android 12 upgrade before or in early 2022.

Battery

The battery capacity of these two smartphones are the same, 4500 mAh capacity. But the charging speed is different. The Reno7 5G supports 60W fast charge, while the Samsung Galaxy A52s is slower with 25W.

The Samsung Galaxy A52s is the winner of this comparison. Aside from the price, it is more durable and offers better display and camera quality. OPPO Reno7 is good but Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G is better.

So if I’m to score these two devices by percentage. I’ll score the OPPO Reno7 (45%) while the Samsung Galaxy A52s gets (55%).
