Both the vivo x80 Pro and iQOO 9 Pro come with the same display features. The display size on both phones is 6.78-inches, both have support for a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and the display of both phones is curved on the sides.

The designs and build of both phones are also very similar. The rear camera modules look the same and both the vivo X80 and iQOO 9 Pro come with a punch-hole on the screen. The only major visible difference in the design is the brand inscription on the back of these phones.

One unseen key difference is that the vivo X80 Pro is certified to have IP68 water and dust-resistant. The iQOO 9 Pro is not officially certified to have this level of water and dust-resistant. So, when it comes to durability, the vivo X80 Pro is the better phone here. Otherwise, you get the same display, build, and design on both phones.

The vivo X80 Pro features a quad rear camera set-up and a single front camera. It has a 50MP main camera with PDAF, Laser AF, and gimbal OIS features. It also comes with an 8MP periscope lens that has OIS and 5x optical zoom capability. Then there is a 12MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and a 48MP ultra-wide lens to complete the four cameras at the rear. Upfront, it has a 16MP selfie camera.

On the other hand, the iQOO 9 Pro has triple rear cameras and a single front camera. At the rear, it has a 50MP main camera with gimbal OIS stabilization, a 16MP telephoto lens with 2.5x optical zoom, and another 50MP ultra-wide lens. Upfront it features a 16MP selfie camera.

The cameras of the iQOO 9 Pro are really good and bring good quality photography/videography. But, the vivo X80 Pro cameras offer you better options when it comes to photography and videography. The vivo X80 Pro has a periscope lens with support for 5x optical zoom and a 32MP selfie camera that can record steady videos in 4k resolution. In general, the vivo X80 Pro offers better photography and videography experience.

vivo X80 Pro vs iQOO 9 Pro: Verdict

So, between the iQOO 9 Pro and vivo X80 Pro which is better? The vivo X80 Pro is better and its price makes it the better phone to buy also. Here is why.

Although the iQOO 9 Pro has the same display, build, design, chipset, and storage as the vivo X80 Pro, it’s still not better than the vivo X80 Pro. This is because the vivo X80 Pro has better camera sensors/setup and is certified to be water and dust-resistant which makes it more durable. For its price, I can only recommend the iQOO 9 Pro as an alternative phone to buy when you can’t afford the vivo X80 Pro.

So, if I’m to score both smartphones, I’ll score the iQOO 9 Pro (48%) and the vivo X80 Pro (52%). This is because the vivo X80 Pro is more durable and offers better camera sensors.
