Apple iMac with M3 chip Specs: Apple has released a new iMac that is powered by the new Apple M3 chipset. The new iMac has a model with two ports and another model with four ports.

Chipset

The Apple M3 chipset in the iMac with M3 chip has an 8-core CPU with 4 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores. The model with two ports has an 8-core GPU while the model with four ports has a 10-core GPU. The chipset has a 16-core Neural Engine and has a speed of up to 100GB/s memory bandwidth.

The Apple M3 chipset is built on the TSMC 3nm process which is the same technology used in the Apple A17 Pro chipset in the Apple iPhone 15 Pro. The CPU, GPU, and RAM technology in the M3 chip is faster than those in the Apple M2 chipset.

RAM and Storage

The Apple iMac with M3 chip is available in 8GB, 16GB, and 24GB of RAM. Available storage options are 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB. The internal storage is a Solid State Drive (SSD).

You can choose from multiple RAM and storage configurations of the M3 iMac. The device also supports Gigabit Ethernet (you have to configure the two-port M3 iMac to support this feature).

Display

The iMac with M3 chipset has a 24-inch diagonal LED-backlit display. This is a 4.5K Retina display that has a resolution of 4480 by 2520 pixels and 500 nits brightness.

The display also has Wide color (P3) and features Apple’s True Tone technology. It however does not support ProMotion or 120Hz refresh rate like the M3 MacBook Pro laptop.

Keyboard and Trackpad

The Apple iMac with M3 chip has a Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse or Magic Trackpad. You can choose to have a Magic Keyboard with Touch ID or a Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and Numeric Keypad.

Wireless and Ports

For wireless connectivity, the M3 Apple iMac has Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax) and Bluetooth 5.3. Available ports are Two Thunderbolt/USB 4 ports, Two USB 3 ports(exclusive to the four-port model), and Gigabit Ethernet.

Audio

The new 2023 iMac with M3 chipset has six speakers. It has force-cancelling woofers and it supports Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos. It also has a Studio-quality three-mic array with a high signal-to-noise ratio and a 3.5mm headphone jack port.
