Remember that the SIM card registration was put on hold due to the NIN linking exercise. The NIN linking exercise is almost done with millions of Nigerians confirmed to have linked their NIN.

Now, it’s time for telecom companies and internet providers in the country to resume SIM sales and registration. MTN has started sending messages to its customers that they have resumed sales and registration of SIM cards.
Resumption of SIM Sales and Registration in Nigeria
The message from MTN Nigeria reads “Y’ello! We’ve resumed the sale of new SIM Cards. Go to https://mtnonline.com/sim/ for a list of selected SIM activation stores. What are you waiting for? Get your New MTN SIM today!”

Airtel Nigeria, another major network carrier in the country also tweeted about SIM registration. They said, “Buy and register your new sim now, and enjoy amazing bonuses.”
9Mobile is also now registering new SIM cards and sales of SIM card. One of their tweets online reads, “Want to register a new SIM? Do this with ease when you walk into select 9mobile experience centre. Also, visit 9mobile.com.ng/sim to check the 9mobile experience centre nearest to you.”

Make sure to register your SIM card in accredited centers or better still visit the nearest MTN, Airtel, 9Mobile or Glo customer care center to buy and register your SIM card.

SIM card sales had become very expensive over the NIN linking period. According to reports, SIM cards which cost about 100 naira (sometimes free) was sold as high as 3,000 naira.
With telecom companies and internet service providers confirming SIM sales and registration, one can only hope for the ridiculous price to drop.
So, if you want to buy and register an MTN SIM, Airtel SIM, and 9Mobile SIM, just walk into any of their customer service outlets. As for Glo SIM card, you’ll still have to wait a little longer.
