The vivo X70 Pro+ is announced with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ at the helm of control. It arrives in two configurations: 8/12 GB of RAM and 256/512GB storage options. For now, the smartphone is first released in China and global announcement is imminent.

vivo X70 Pro+ brings many upgrades over it’s predecessor. There are significant upgrades to the display, camera, battery and chipset. Thus, if you are buying one, you are obviously getting the best of vivo device this year.

The brightness level of the Samsung’s E5 AMOLED panel is insane (at same time uses less power). This new display uses an LTPO panel which enables an adjustment to the refresh rate to range between 1Hz to 120Hz. vivo X70 Pro+ has a screen size of 6.78-inch QHD+ resolution. The device is IP68 dust and water resistant.

Sitting at the helm of the vivo X70 Pro+ is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ chipset, that increases the Cortex-X1 based prime CPU core up to 2.995 GHz, from 2.84 GHz in the normal Snapdragon 888 SoC. The processor is paired with 8/12 GB RAM and 256/512GB storage.

Also, the Snapdragon 888+ SoC has a 20% AI boost compared to the standard SD888. And to support the SD888+ ISP, vivo added its own custom image processing chip known as V1. According to vivo, the V1 chip helps to handle image processing and doing some advanced AI magic while consuming less power all at the same time.

The camera of the vivo X70 Pro+ is as well impressive. With the main camera being 50MP with OIS, followed by a 48MP ultrawide lens with gimbal stabilization. Then an 8MP periscope lens capable of 5x optical zoom and another 12MP telephoto lens capable of 2x optical zoom. While upfront is a 32MP selfie cam.

The rear camera can shoot video in 8k resolution with stabilization feature available on all camera lenses. The front can record 4k max.

Software wise, the device boots Origin OS 1.0 (based on Android 11) out of the box, at least the ones in China are. The global version might be the same or different in terms of the skinned software.

The battery capacity of the device is 4,500 mAh with 55W USB-C charger support.

vivo X70 Pro+ Price and Availability

In China, the starting price of the vivo X70 Pro+ is CNY 5,500 ($850/€720) for the base 8/256GB model. While the 12/256GB one is CNY 6,000 and the top-end 12/512GB version is CNY 7,000.
