Display
Both smartphones have similar display size. A 6.5-inch FHD+ IPS LCD touchscreen. However, the Redmi 10 brings 90Hz refresh rate support. Which is lacking on the Redmi 9.
Thus, for a smoother display, the Xiaomi Redmi 10 is better.
Camera
When it comes to the camera segment, the Xiaomi Redmi 10 is better by miles. It brings 50MP primary shooter that can deliver a better quality image both in daytime and in lowlight condition. There is also an 8MP ultrawide lens, 2MP depth sensor and 2MP macro cam to complete the quad camera setup. While upfront is an 8MP selfie camera.
Redmi 9 on the other hand, brings an obsolete camera setup. The main camera is 13MP, aided by an 8MP ultrawide lens, 5MP macro and 2MP depth sensor. Upfront it retains the 8MP selfie camera.

These two smartphones don’t support 5G network because the MediaTek helio G88 and G80 are not 5G enabled. However, 4G connectivity is available.
Xiaomi Redmi 10 is powered by MediaTek helio G88 chipset, paired with 4/6GB RAM and 64/128 GB storage. The processor is a refresh version to the MediaTek helio G80 that powers the Redmi 9. There is only a slight difference between them.
Software
Software wise, the Redmi 10 runs Android 11 out of the box and it will be upgrading to Android 12 later in the year. While the Redmi 9 runs Android 10 out of the box and currently eligible for Android 11 upgrade.
