Tecno Camon 15 Premier vs iPhone SE 2020: Okay i won’t lie, this might just be the most insane or unlikely comparison you’d ever come across. I mean, who compares the almighty Apple iPhone with a Tecno Camon phone? Well here in Tech Arena24 we do. It’s simple really, both phone companies are good in their respective fields and we are curios if the Tecno Phone actually stands a chance.

This post is about comparing the newly released Tecno Camon 15 Premier and the iPhone SE 2020. We’ll be talking about their similarities (we doubt if there is any) and the differences (we know there are allot). At the end you get to decide which on is better and worth your dollar.

Some few years back Tecno advertised that the camera quality of the Tecno Camon 8 was better than those of an iPhone. Seriously? you might just want to laugh this one out (Hahahahah). Okay that been said lets get to business.

The main reason for this comparison is because these two phones are unusual from both companies. Check it out; this Tecno Phone is first pop selfie camera phone from the company and this new iPhone is the cheapest compact phone right now. So, why not compare these two unusual?

Tecno Camon 15 Premier vs iPhone SE 2020

We know that at first glance most persons will feel that the Tecno phone does not stand a chance. Well, you might want ti have a rethink. A good phone is not brand or name dependent. Good phones include much more than just brand names.

Network Connectivity

In the network category both phones comes with 2G, 3G and 4G. There is no 5G for either phone. This is okay given that the incoming 5G technology is yet to be available in most countries.

So, for those who think that the Tecno is no match here is a category where it actually measures up to the iPhone. But it gets even more interesting from the designs of both phones.

Build, Design and Display

Differenet materials were used when building these two phones. iPhone SE 2020 was built with Glass front (Gorilla Glass)
glass back (Gorilla Glass 6), aluminum frame. While the Tecno Camon 15 Premier was built with front glass, plastic back and plastic frame. When you hold these two phones, you will notice the difference almost immediately.

The iPhone SE 2020 comes with very big bezer just like other Apple iPhones. But, the Tecno phone comes with a very slim bezer which is quite popular with Android Phones these days. It also uses the latest pop up selfie camera technology which is among its selling point.

Talk about display and there is also some real difference here. LG Velvet comes with bigger screen size of 6.6 IPS LCD display. While the iPhone SE 2020 comes with a small 4.7 Retinal LCD display. The Tecno Camon 15 premier offers you bigger screen which is really nice.

We have the Camon 15 Premier with big display, more premium design and a pop up selfie camera which a gamer and movie lover would love. On the other hand is the iPhone SE 2020 small display, which is very suitable for one hand operation. Which of these two display best suits you?

Operating System and Chipset

If you have read and watched the tussle of who has the best OS and SOC between iPhone and Android Phones then you should know this category is going to be a tough one. Both runs on latest operating system from Apple (iOS 13) and Android (Android 10).

The differences continues in the SOC section. Camon 15 Premier comes with Mediatek MT6765 Helio P35 (12nm) while the iPhone SE 2020 comes with Apple A13 Bionic (7 nm+). To be honest, the Tecno phone is no match here. Its like the SOC of the iPhone is 4 generations ahead of the Camon 15 premier SOC.

A closer look at the CPU cores shows how the iPhone SE 2020 is better here. Camon 15 premier uses octa-core 2.4 (1×2.3 GHz Cortex-A53) while the iPhone SE 2020 uses Hexa-core (2×2.65 GHz Lightning + 4×1.8 GHz Thunder). From the areas made bold above, you’ll see that the iPhone SE 2020 has 2 faster cores which will give it performance boost ahead of the Camon 15 Premier.

In this category, the SOC of the Tecno Phone is good but that of the iPhone SE 2020 is way better. When processing data, playing games and heavy graphics/animations, the iPhone will do it better and faster.

Internal Storage and RAM

So far, the Camon 15 Premier comes in a single variant of 6GB RAM and 128GB Internal Storage while the iPhone SE 2020 comes with a 3GB RAM and 64,128GB/256GB Internal Storage. The Tecno Phone have space for external storage via microSD card but the Apple phone does not support this feature.

The iPhone offer bigger internal storage option but the Tecno phone makes up for this with its external storage option via microSD card. But, the 6GB RAM of the Camon 15 premier is worthy of mention.

Camera

Apple phones are known to have incredible cameras. But the camera of the new camon 15 premier is coming with the Sensor made by Sony. Camera sensors from Sony are really good and Tecno is promising incredible photos. Well, we still don’t think it will be on same level as the iPhone SE 2020 in terms of quality.

Battery

iPhone SE 2020 comes with 1821 mAh battery which is poor and the 4000 mAh battery found the the Camon 15 Premier battery is far better. There is no fast charge available in the Tecno phone.

Prices

The Tecno Camon 15 Premier is expected to cost about $250 while the price of the iPhone SE 2020 is about $400. With regards to the price, the iPhone SE 2020 is small but mighty here. However, the Tecno phone is about $150 cheaper.

We were not expecting the Tecno phone to be more expensive of course but it did not perform that bad against the expensive phone. I mean, if given the choice day to day phone users who care less about brand names will buy the Tecno phone instead of the iPhone.

Imagine asking your Grandma to pick between a pop up selfie camera which is $150 less cheaper and an iPhone with no such technology. I don’t kno about yours but mine will be going for the Tecno phone and using the extra money to buy some groceries.

This Tecno Camon 15 premier vs iPhone SE 2020 is quite interesting. The Apple iPhone SE 2020 is fast, more compact, better camera quality and suitable for one hand operation. Camon 15 Premier on the other hand is big, more premium design, better battery and more camera options.
