In the early hours of today (or late hours depending on your region), users of the popular Crypto.com platform complained about unauthorized activities in their accounts. This complaints forced the company to pause withdrawal activities on the platform for a while.

But, after series of investigation, the platform has detected no known hack threat but as security measure, crypto.com has enhanced security on all user accounts.

A new tweet from the company reads “Earlier today a small number of users experienced unauthorized activity in their accounts. All funds are safe. In an abundance of caution, security on all accounts is being enhanced, requiring users to: -Sign back into their App & Exchange accounts -Reset their 2FA“.

The company also added “This update will be rolled out to users progressively over the next few hours. Once complete, withdrawals will be re-enabled. We understand this may be an inconvenience, but security comes first. Thank you for your support.“

In line with the above updates, crypto.com is assuring its users that the platform is safe and all digital assets are secure. This also means that security for each account on crypto.com is improved and you might have to log out and log into your crypto.com account again for this to take effect.

If you have a 2FA security active in your account before now, you have to activate it again. To confirm this new security update, the Mr Kris, CEO Crypto.com tweeted “Update: final checks, we are working to resume withdrawals in the next 30-60 mins.“

Crypto.com restore withdrawal services after security threat

After hours of security threats that led to series of security checks and updates, Crypto.com has finally resumed the withdrawal checks that was paused in the earlier hours of the day.

The recent update from Crypto.com reads “Update: Withdrawal services have been restored. All funds are safe. It will take time to clear the backlogs. We appreciate your patience.“
