Display, Build, and Design
The Honor 70 Pro+ comes with a 6.78-inch display while the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra comes with a 6.8-inch display. The display of both phones is OLED, has a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and is protected by Gorilla Glass. However, this Galaxy S22 Ultra features stronger Gorilla Glas Victus+ protection and is water and dustproof.
On the front, both phones have a slightly curved screen and a center punch-hole that houses the selfie camera. The bezels and chin on both smartphones are very slim and make the phones look really beautiful. One major difference in the screen is the resolution. The Galaxy S22 Ultra has a 1440 x 3088 pixels resolution while the Honor 70 Pro+ has 1200 x 2652 pixels.
The display of the Honor 70 Pro+ is really good but the display of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is better. The Galaxy S22 Ultra has a brighter and more colorful display. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is also more durable because it is certified to be water and dustproof. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is also more productive with its in-built S PEN/stylus feature.

Camera
The Honor 70 Pro+ features a triple rear camera set-up and a single front camera. It has a 54MP primary camera with a PDAF feature. The main camera is supported by an 8MP telephoto lens with OIS and 3x optical zoom and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. Upfront it has a 50MP front camera that can shoot steady videos in 4k resolution.
On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has quad rear cameras and a single front camera. At the rear, it has a 108MP main camera with PDAF, Laser AF, and OIS features. The main camera is supported by a 10MP periscope lens with dual-pixel PDAF, OIS, and 10x optical zoom. Then there is another 10MP telephoto lens capable of 3x optical zoom and a 12MP ultra-wide camera that can shoot Super Steady video. Upfront it has a 40MP main camera that can shoot videos in 4k resolution.
When it comes to photography and videography, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is better than the Honor 70 Pro+. The Honor 70 Pro+ uses a new 54MP Sony sensor for its primary camera and has an 8MP telephoto lens, and also features a 50MP front camera. But, it’s still behind the 108MP primary camera of the Galaxy S22 Ultra which is supported by two telephoto lenses (10x and 3x optical zoom), and the 40MP front camera.
The quality of photos especially in low-light or night photos from the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra beats that of the Honor 70 Pro+. You also get more videography options and more camera lenses to use for different situations. Lastly, the Galaxy S22 Ultra offers better camera stability compared to the Honor 70 Pro+.

Both the Honor 70 Pro+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra have support for 5G connectivity but both phones also have different performance. This is because both smartphones are equipped with two different chipsets from different companies.
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 5G chip from Qualcomm. While the Honor 70 Pro+ has the Dimensity 9000 5G chip from MediaTek. Both chipsets are built on the 4nm process technology but the Dimensity 9000 chipset has a more consistent performance compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
When it comes to CPU and GPU throttling, the Galaxy S22 Ultra does better than the Honor 70 Pro+. This is because the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip inside the Samsung phone manages CPU and GPU throttling better. However, when it comes to battery efficiency, the Dimensity 9000 5G inside the Honor 70 Pro+ is the better chipset.
The RAM inside the Honor 70 Pro+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra is 8/12GB. The minimum internal storage capacity on both smartphones is 128GB but the maximum storage of the Honor phone is 256GB while the Samsung phone goes all the way up to 1T. None of these phones have space for storage expansion via a microSD card slot.

Software
The Honor 70 Pro+ boots Magic UI 6.1 based on Android 12 out of the box. This Honor phone will get at least three years of major software updates and monthly security patches. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra boots the OneUI 4 based on Android 12 OS out of the box. Samsung has promised four years of major software updates and five years of monthly security patches for the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
One thing to note is that the Honor 70 Pro+ does not have support for Google Mobile Services (for the version launched in China). This means you can’t download and install apps from the Google Play Store using the Honor 70 Pro+, unlike the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.
Battery
The Honor 70 Pro+ is powered by a 4,500mAh battery while the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is powered by a 5,000mAh battery. The Honor 70 Pro+ has support for a 100W fast charge while the Galaxy S22 Ultra only has support for a 45W fast charge. The Galaxy S22 Ultra has a bigger battery and also supports wireless charge technology which makes it a better phone here.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra vs Honor 70 Pro Plus: Price
The price of the Honor 70 Pro Plus with 8 + 256GB storage option is $645 while the 8 + 256GB storage option of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is priced at $1,199. Given the price of both smartphones, which should you buy?

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra vs Honor 70 Pro Plus: Verdict
So, between the Honor 70 Pro+ and the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra which is better? The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is better than the Honor 70 Pro Plus and here is why.
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has a brighter and more colorful display. It’s also more durable with its Gorilla Glass Victus+ and IP68 water and dustproof certification. It also features a more advanced camera system with top quality and lots of features for photography and videography. It has support for S PEN for more productivity, has a bigger battery and wires charge tech, and has a better software update policy. The catch here is that it’s more expensive.
The Honor 70 Pro+ is cheaper than the Galaxy S22 Ultra but its level is still behind the Samsung phone. Although the Honor 70 Pro+ is a very good phone, placed side-by-side with the Galaxy S22 Ultra, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is the better phone by a mile.
So, if I’m to score both smartphones, I’ll score the Honor 70 Pro Plus (45%) and the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra (55%). Although the Honor 70 Pro+ is a good smartphone and it’s cheaper, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is better than this Honor phone.
